May 17

8th Grade Baseball Clinches The MIC Conference Championship Last Night In Its Victory Over Belzer, 6-4

The Eagles took the lead late in the game in a 6-4 victory over Belzer on Thursday clinching the MIC Conference Title. 

Eastwood was down 2 in the top of the 5th when Ryan Burch tied things up with a huge 2-run double, and later scoring to take the lead for the Eagles.

Jack Strabala went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits last night.  The Eagles stole 9 bases during the game as three players stole more than one.  Dylan Morris led the way with three, scoring 2 times.

Riley Behrmann was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. He surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, with 5 K’s.

The 8th grade baseball team finishes the year 9-1 and conference champs.  Great season Eagles!

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 15

Eastwood Defeats Lynhurst In A Blow-Out Victory, 15-3

The Eagles asserted their will over Lynhurst on their way to an easy 15-3 victory.  The team got things moving in the first inning. Riley Behrmann singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

The Eagles tallied five runs in the third inning. The offense put the pressure on, lead by a walk by Dylan Morris, a single by Kevin Courtney, and an error on a ball put in play by Behrmann.

Ryan Burch earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound as he went two innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out three. Geoni Beard threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Lynhurst allowed 14 runs on seven hits, striking out three from their starting pitcher.

Behrmann led the Eagles with two hits in four at bats.  The team didn’t commit a single error in the field.  Courtney had four chances in the field, the most on the team.  Behrmann led the fury on the base paths with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 16 stolen bases.

 

May 14

Early Lead For the Falcons Seals Fate For the Eagles Who Drop Their First Game of the Season, 8-4

The Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in to suffer our first loss of the season, 8-4 to Northview.  Northview scored on a double and a single in the second inning.

Eastwood put up four runs in the sixth inning.  The big inning was driven by a single by Ryan Burch and a double by Xavier Rahman.

The Falcons scored three runs in the fifth inning. 

Keyshaun Pipkin was the winning pitcher for the Falcons. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out 12.

Riley Behrmann took the loss for the Eagles.  He surrendered three runs on three hits over two innings, striking out four and walking one.

Eastwood racked up seven hits in the game. Dylan Morris and Rahman all had multiple hits. Rahman and Morris each collected two hits to lead the team. Eastwood didn’t commit a single error in the field. Trey Wrennick had the most chances in the field with six.

 

May 10

Eagles Claim Victory Over Wildcats In Blow-Out Fashion, 10-1

The Eastwood Eagles won big over the Westlane Widlcats 10-1 on Thursday.

Eastwood pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning as the team scored one run on a stolen base, Kyle McConnell drew a walk, scoring one run, Jack Strabala drew a walk, scoring one run, and Gabriel Chambers drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kevin Courtney was credited with the victory for the Eagles. He allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out two. Riley Behrmann threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

White took the loss for Westlane . He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out six.

Eastwood tallied 13 hits on the day.  Behrmann, Xavier Rahman, Trey Wrennick, Courtney, and McConnell each racked up multiple hits.  Rahman and Behrmann each collected three hits to lead the team. The Eagles were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.  Strabala made the most plays with eight.  The team stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Behrmann led the way with three.

 

May 7

Eastwood Routes Lincoln 22-2 in 3 Innings

Eastwood blows out Lincoln at home by 20 in rout of Conference rivals.  Dylan Morris led the team with 4 hits.  Will Cromer and Kevin Courtney both had 2 hits in the game.  Geoni Beard walked 3 times and Ryan Burch had 5 RBI’s.  

Burch threw 2 strong innings, striking out 3.

 

April 30

Behrmann Strong At The Plate As The Eagles Defeat Chapel Hill

Riley Behrmann would not be denied at the plate on Monday, picking up four hits and leading the Eagles to a 12-4 win over Chapel Hill.  Behrmann singled in the second, doubled in the third, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

The Eagles got on the board in the second inning. An error scored one run. 

Eastwood notched six runs in the third inning.  Kevin Courtney, Behrmann, Xavier Rahman, and Dylan Morris contributed offensively by all driving in runs in the frame.

Ryan Burch was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. He went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two. Gabriel Chambers threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Eagles tallied 13 hits on the day. Behrmann, Rahman, Trey Wrennick, and Morriseach managed multiple hits for the team. Behrmann led Eastwood Eagles-8 with four hits in five at bats.  The Eagles tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Morris led the way with four.  Defensively the team was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jack Strabala made the most plays with eight.

 

April 26

Eastwood Nabs Win Over New Augusta Academy Despite Early 4-Run Inning

Despite allowing four runs in the second inning, the Eagles defeated New Augusta Academy 14-4 on Thursday.  

Gabriel Chambers helped lead the Eagles to victory with three walks.  Eastwood  opened up scoring in the first inning, when Xavier Rahman grounded out, scoring one run.  In the bottom of the second inning, New Augusta Academy tied things up at four when an error scored two runs for New Augusta Academy.

Eastwood pulled away for good with seven runs in the third inning. In the third Riley Behrmann doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs, Rahman singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Kevin Courtney tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Courtney was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. He allowed three hits and four runs over two and a third innings, striking out three. Chambers threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Eastwood racked up eight hits on the day. Ryan Burch, Behrmann, and Rahman all had multiple hits. Rahman, Behrmann, and Burch each collected two hits to lead the team. Chambers led the Eagles with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 15 stolen bases.

 

April 19

Eastwood Slides Into A Blow-Out Win Over Guion Creek

The Eagles sailed to an easy victory over Guion Creek 19-2 on Thursday.  Xavier Rahman earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Eastwood. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out five and walking one.  Riley Behrmann threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Eastwood racked up 12 hits. Gabriel Chambers, Behrmann, and Trey Wrennick each managed multiple hits for the Eagles.  Wrennick, Behrmann, and Chambers each managed two hits to lead the team.  The Eagles stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Dylan Morris led the way with two. The defense was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. WIll Cromer made the most plays with eight.

 

April 18

Eagles Crush Stonybrook in 3 Innings, 17-0

Eastwood blows out Stonybrook at home by 17-0 in a 3-inning rout of our Conference rivals.  Kevin Courtney led the team with 2 hits, Xavier Rahman had 3 RBI’s.  Jack Strabala had 3 QAB’s – a team high.

Kevin Courtney and Ryan Burch combined to blank Stonybrook.

 

April 12

Rahman Strong At The Plate As The Eagles Defeats Northview In Season Opener

Xavier Rahman came to ballpark and meant business on Thursday, tallying four hits and leading the Eagles to a 20-11 win over Northview in our season opener.  Rahman doubled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Eastwood collected 12 hits and Northview had four in the high-scoring affair.  The Eagles opened up an early lead in the first inning when Rahman doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.  Eastwood took the lead for good with eight runs in the third inning.  In the third Rahman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Ben Wright singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Ryan Burch doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Rahman doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Gabriel Chambers earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for the Eagles. He surrendered three runs on four hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one. Burch threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Rahman started the game for the Eagles. He went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on zero hits and striking out three.

Eastwood tallied 12 hits on the day. Rahman, Burch, and Riley Behrmann all collected multiple hits.  Rahman led the team with four hits in four at bats.  The team stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Burch led the way with three.
